Uttar Pradesh: Akhilesh Yadav government to provide jobs to Muzaffarnagar riot victims

An order has been issued by the Uttar Pradesh government to provide government jobs to the kin of those killed during riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas, an official spokesman said in Lucknow.

"Implementing the announcement made by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on September 15 that kin of those killed in riots will be given government job according to their qualification an order has been issued," he said.

The spokesman said that 62 people were killed in the violence of which five remain unidentified.

He said that in one case age of kin of a victim was less than 18 years and he would be accommodated after attaining the legal age.

Muzaffarnagar riots: Villagers fleeing homes targeted

He said that as per the proposal received by Divisional Commissioner Saharanpur seven persons would be given job in group C.

He said that remaining 47 people would be given jobs under group D in various departments.

The spokesman said that directives have been issued to senior officers in this regard.
