In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

In this region, Pakistan, hundreds of people have died and millions are left homeless. People are now living in semi-graveyards, on roadsides... anywhere they can.

Complied, Edited, and Adapted by Khalid Latif.

They have no food, no water, no shelter and no medication. Their entire livestock has been destroyed and they wander from place to place in dirty muddy clothes – all that they have left now of their possessions.
Many roads and bridges have been blocked or washed away by the floods, making it very difficult for people to move around. Children are seen crying everywhere; barefoot and dirty .There is dirty flood water and mud everywhere and at one point I wonder how we will ever make up all the aforesaid losses. These destitute people have nothing left except hope that some help would arrive.
They are all are suffering from different ailments and do not have the right resources to attend to their medical needs also.
It is a huge and worrying struggle. This is just a minor account of what I experienced to give you readers an idea of what is going on out here in addition to what you already know.
My second purpose of writing this is to make an appeal to each and every one of you to donate whatever you can to help these people. You can donate online to any of the Edhi Centres listed below for your ready reference.
 How to give donations
Donations are to be given only at Edhi Welfare Centres.
For the sake of security of your donation, for any donation exceeding Rs.2000/- please donate in the form of a cheque/ bank draft / pay order in the name of
Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation, Account no. 640, Muslim Commercial Bank, Bombay Bazar branch, Karachi or send your donation directly to the head office .In cities where there are branches of Muslim Commercial Bank, you can also deposit directly into the Foundation's accounts in these branches.
Edhi Welfare Centre needs your constant financial cooperation. Every single penny that you donate is spent for ameliorating the sufferings of ailing humanity and acts as a welfare insurance for the citizens of Pakistan.

The Edhi Foundation itself, as mentioned above, does not collect funds at any place other than Edhi Centers. However, some organizations offer an indirect way of doing the same. For example, during the initial crisis after the Earthquake in Pakistan in 2005, for a time, secure online donations (tax-deductible in the US) for the Edhi Foundation earthquake relief efforts could be made via the Association for the Development of Pakistan website.
