Anil Parashar 12:12pm Jan 25 PRESS RELEASE NHRC notice to the Union Home Secretary over reports of BSF jawans thrashing a young man near Bangladesh border New Delhi, January 24th, 2012 The National Human Rights Commission taking suo motu cognizance of a media report has issued a notice to the Union Home Secretary calling for a report within four weeks into alleged merciless thrashing of a young man by the BSF jawans near Indo-Bangladesh border in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The Commission has observed that the contents of press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights of the victim.
