PROPAGATION AND POPSCIENCE INAUGURATED
Kolkata, March 1, 2010
Dr. Bikash Sinha, Homi Bhaba Professor, Department of Atomic Energy,
Government of India today inaugurated "Propagation", a journal of
science communication and "Popscience", a science learning portal
brought out by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in
Kolkata today. The prime objective of NCSM is to popularize science
and technology, develop scientific temper and attitude among people.
Propagation and Popscience are the two new additions to NCSM's
nationwide initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sinha pointed out that tomorrow's world
belongs to science and technology. He said that science is attractive
because it is changing everyday. Dr. Sinha iterated that for the
growth of India, growth and sustenance of science is very important.
The programme was also attended by Smt. Deepawati Sen, Chairperson,
Executive Committee, Central Research & Training Laboratory, Kolkata,
Shri G. S. Rautela, Director General, NCSM and Shri Jayanta
Sthanapati, Deputy Director General, NCSM among others.
