UBI ties up with Hyundai Motor
Kolkata: Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
United Bank of India has signed an MOU with the Hyundai Motor. The bank has now become a preferred financier of Hyundai Motor India and will be offering financing facilities to the eligible customers.
Speaking on the occasion Shri S L Bansal, Executive Director, United bank of India mentioned that the Bank is committed for aggressive growth in all the parameters, especially in Retail Segment. He further said that with 1558 branches of the Bank, spread across 28 States and 4 Union Territories, this tie-up arrangement will help both the partners to reach out to the wider market and make auto loans more convenient and easier for prospective car buyers.
The tie-up is extended to cover financing options by all the branches of the bank in India and UBI customers will be benefited with the competitive & attractive rates.
Shri R K Mohanty, General Manager- Retail Banking Department, United Bank of India and Shri signed the MOU. Arvind Saxena, Director, Sales, Hyundai Motor.
United Bank of India already have tie-up with Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors and further tie-up with Hyundai Motors will be a considerable value addition to its customers.
The tie-up will enable the bank to increase its car loan portfolio substantially.

TOUTS APPREHENDED DURING SURPRISE RAIDS IN RESERVATION OFFICES
Kolkata: Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
Surprise raids were conducted by Eastern Railway's Anti-Fraud Squad under Commercial Department at different Railway Reservation Offices like Khidirpur, Tollygunj and Russa road. During the raid, five (5) touts were arrested. Of them, three (3) touts were prosecuted.
To prevent illegal activities of touts from booking of reservation tickets in the Computerized Railway Reservation Offices during the ensuing Durgapuja period, officers and supervisors of Eastern Railway's Commercial Department were deployed at reservation offices during the period from 11 to 28 July 2010. The officers and supervisors of Eastern Railway were engaged for screening of reservation requisition slips of the intending reservists at the time of opening of booking so as to ensure that the genuine passengers can book the reserved accommodation.

Ticket Checking Drives
Kolkata: Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
Due to intensive ticket checking drives conducted by Eastern Railway's Ticket Checking staff in association with Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel a total of 1.02 lakhs of free-trippers were apprehended during the period from April 1 to 25 July 2010 as against a total of 88.9 thousand free-trippers apprehended during the corresponding period of last year i.e. 1 April to 25 July 2009.
