UCO BANK NET PROFIT UP
Kolkata July 23, 2010
The nationalized UCO Bank has registered a net profit growth of 45.49% at Rs.260 crores from Rs. 179 crores during 2009-10 Financial Year (FY). The bank's operating profit also registered a growth of 108.39% from Rs.310 crores to Rs. 646 crores during the same period. This has been announced by the Executive Director of the Bank, Shri Ajai Kumar while announcing the Unaudited Financial Result of the bank for the first quarter of 2010-11 FY in Kolkata today.
The bank has more than 50 years of experience in overseas banking operation having branches at Hong-Kong and Singapore. The bank's vision is to open more new overseas branches for which locations are yet to be decided, Shri Kumar informed. UCO Bank at present has 2156 branches, all of which are CBS covered. The "UCO-Mobile Bank"–the CBS enabled branches-on-wheels are a success. In all four such banks have been launched.
The bank adopted Bagha village in West Bengal on 2.1.10 as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility and has now decided to develop the road from Raghunathgunj to Bagha. So far, the bank has adopted 10 villages all over India.
