Thanks.

To:  To: Honorable President Mr. Barack Obama, Honorable Vice President Joe Biden and Honorable Secretary of State Ms. Hillary R. Clinton

It is not that often does a mere mention of an individual's name turns children excited with glee and turns adults' faces bright with anticipation. Zoubir Bouchikhi is such a name. Over the years Mr. Bouchikhi has earned a leading role in our community, a role that is sought by many but earned by a few. It is his caring nature, unselfish attitude, and dedication to the community that earned him the esteemed position. He wears many hats in the community. He is a spiritual leader, marriage counselor, consoler to the bereaved, mentor to the youth, torch bearer of knowledge, advocate for interfaith dialogue and a sheltering arm to the socially exploited.

Unfortunately, our community is at the risk of losing this great man because of some bureaucratic oversight and misunderstanding. His absence will be devastating to the community not to mention his four infant children and destitute wife who has no source of income. Although, Honorable Congresswomen Sheila Jackson Lee's office has lend some help to address this great leader's plight but unfortunately he still remains unjustly detained and slotted for deportation, his children and wife continue to suffer from his absence, and our community lingers in despair.

We, the undersigned, are concerned Houstonians who are urging you to please make this issue a top priority and intervene on Mr. Bouchikhi's behalf.

Sincerely,
