·        Bombay High Court orders registration of FIR in Adarsh scam within 2 weeks.

·        The Court also ordered issuing of summons to the regional Joint Director of CBI to appear before it .

The Bombay High Court division bench of justices B H Marlapalle and U D Salvi hearing the NAPM petition on Adarsh Scam today asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to complete its inquiry into Mumbai's Adarsh Housing Society scam in two weeks. The High Court Bench pulled up the CBI for the tardy pace of its probe in the Adarsh Society scam. The Bombay High Court today directed the investigating agency to expeditiously conclude the investigation.

The Government of Maharashtra represented by Advocate General Ravi Kadamhas opposed the handing over of the probe to the CBI. In an affidavit, the state government has said that the 'Central Government has little or no concern with Adarsh. There is therefore no jurisdictional basis for handing over the case to the CBI.' But this pont was not taken over by the Judges.

Additional Solicitor General Darius Khambata, appearing for CBI, sought four weeks to finish the probe, saying, "It is a sensitive case involving big names. The agency does not want to take any hasty decision." But t he court refused to grant more than two weeks to the agency.

The Court also ordered issuing of summons to the regional Joint Director of CBI to appear before it when the court next hears the case after two weeks i.e on 1st February. NAPM was represented by Adv YP Singh, Adv Ashish & Adv Kiran B. in the petition number 3359 of 2010 demanding for registration of FIR against the guilty officials & politicians involved in the Adarsh scam.
