TASK FORCE FORMED BY EASTERN RAILWAY TO ERADICATE MALPRACTICES IN RESERVATION

 Kolkata: Friday, July 16, 2010.

 

Eastern Railway has taken some special measures so that bonafide passengers may book tickets with reserved accommodation in different trains during Puja holidays this year.

 

Special Task Force has been formed comprising Vigilance Personnel, Anti-Fraud Squad, officers and Supervisors of Commercial Department and RPF personnel for proper monitoring in Mass Contact Areas mainly in reservation offices from 2nd July of 2010.  This Task Force has been formed to eradicate the malpractices and irregularities of touts in booking of Reservation offices.  Surprise raids will be conducted by the Task Force in the premises of authorized and unauthorized travel agencies with the help of local Police/CBI to prevent blocking of reservation under fictitious names and subsequent sale of transferred tickets.

 

Each reservation slips will be signed by Officers/Supervisors before opening the reservation counters so that only the persons waiting in the queue may book the tickets.

 

Close watch will also be kept against blocking of accommodation in reservation coaches with spreading towels by anti-social elements.

UBI ORGANIZES WORKSHOP ON CURRENCY CHEST AND MANAGEMENT

 Kolkata: Friday, July 16, 2010.

 

In its endeavour to address the various issues on Currency Chest, United Bank of India, organized one day Awareness Programme on "Currency Chest Operation & Management", for the Officer-Incharge of all the Currency Chest Branches in West Bengal, Officer-Incharge of Currency Management of all its Regional Offices, based in West Bengal.

 

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri S.L.Bansal, Executive Director, of the Bank in presence of Shri B.Karjee, General Manager, RBI. All the Senior Executives of the Bank attended the said function.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri.Bansal mentioned that keeping in view the general welfare of the society at large, to improve customer service and to help the Regulators in flushing out the non-issue able notes from the system, it is the utmost responsibility of the Bank to ensure the Currency Chest Operation and Management in an effective manner.
