Why Bimaru Sates Shame India? Bimaru Politics

Dear Mukhtar,
Please tell us why BIMARU states shame India?

Tell us how the Injections given by Bill Gates to Bihar and Orisha and Jharkhand will be different from Injections given by Indian Companies?

You want American injection even it is 50 times more expensive.

Arun and SN are touts of Vandana Shiva out to create trouble. Their states don't grow any cotton. They had nothing to say about their own states Bihar and Odisha.

I have been writing about corruption and politics and projects and GM foods based on official data.

95% Cotton farmers have adopted Bt Cotton, Crop Yields had Doubled and Pesticide use in many countries reduced by 90%.

It is the Farmers who had to decide which seed they need not agents of IFOAM that Swaminathan and Vandana are?

It is total non sense Critics of Monsanto are neither farmers nor even seed breeders they are simply Organic Farmers and their Agents.

You might have seen Nayadaur starring Dalip Kumar, --

A Tonga Driver was Challenging Bus to ferry passengers.

It is the same story repeated here – failed Organic Farmers and their agents getting Rs. 500 crores foreign aid have been left behind by High Yielding Bt Cotton.

Let people who prefer Tonga enjoy it and the ones who like Bus ride too should be free to do so.

We should avoid Bimaru Politics.

Bimaru States to Get Bill Gates Injections

Ravinder Singh ji, Your generalisations are quite wrong. I am from one of these Bimaru states. Arun ji has a vision for ecologically safe India while you are a techno-enthusiast seeking all the new seeds without any concern for the preservation of indigenous varieties. Opposition to GM seeds does not mean refusal of aid and grants. Gandhian NGOs oppose that too and NAPM is an example of this. Your position is clear to all. You do not want to hear critique of Monsanto and all those organisations working for control of large scale production and distribution of GM seeds.

Bimaru States to Get Bill Gates Injections

Friends we have not heard any story of pathetic state of health from members of Bimaru states who pretends to be expert of everything. Bill Gates is working on Malaria, TB, Arsenic, Kala Azar, Malnutrition, Polio – almost every thing.

Bimaru Population likes American Injections. But most of the NGOs and their touts hate Monsanto and other seeds companies.

It is a global tragedy and greatest National Shame as dubious NGOs Swindle over $2b or more of foreign aid – Bill Gates shall take care of entire health care in Bihar soon may be Orisha, UP and Jharkhand also.

PATNA: In a move to bolster Bihar's public health standards, the State government on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, who visited Bihar on Wednesday, signed the agreement in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the objective of accelerating State-wide improvements in maternal, newborn and child health.

A priority

Speaking to journalists at the event, Mr. Gates said Bihar remained a priority as far as immunisation drives were concerned, and stressed on the reduction of infant mortality rates, full immunisation coverage and breast feeding.

Terming the MoC a "milestone," he expressed satisfaction at the progress in reducing the number of polio cases in the Kosi belt areas, along with the strides being taken to improve women's health in the State.

The Bihar government and the Foundation anticipate the programmes and activities governed by the memorandum to have a five-year duration, from 2010 to 2015.

According to the MoC, the Foundation will provide technical, management and program design support via NGOs in the areas of maternal, neonatal and child health; maternal and child nutrition; vaccine-preventable diseases, tuberculosis, pneumonia and Kala-azar, among others.

While the MoC applies to all 38 districts in Bihar, the Foundation will initially start work in the nine districts of Patna, Banka, Khagaria, Begusarai, Gopalganj, Saharsa, Samastipur, and East and West Champaran.
Reviews work

Earlier in the day, Mr. Gates visited the Alauli block in Khagaria and the Katoria block in Banka district to review the Foundation's work on polio, Kala-azar and tuberculosis eradication programmes.

He also reviewed the progress of schemes for alleviating maternal and infant mortality rates in these areas.

"We discussed in what areas we could cooperate. Initially, we decided to start with nine districts in order to scale-up the work being done there," said Mr. Kumar, expressing his appreciation of the partnership.

Lauding the work done by the Foundation in Bihar, the Chief Minister said that "the State immunisation rate, which was previously a mere 11 per cent, had shot up to 60 per cent due to the efforts of the Foundation's workers."

Expanding partnership

Mr. Kumar said issues like health and governance were also discussed in detail, adding that the government would be eager to expand the partnership in the near future. "We also look forward to the Foundation's cooperation on issues like Integrated Child Development System," Mr. Kumar said.

Admiring Mr. Gates' credo that "every human being's life is to be valued," Mr. Kumar said it was commendable more so as Mr. Gates came from an industrialised and capital-rich country.
