The UN nuclear watchdog has suggested Turkey as the third country in a draft deal that would provide Iran with fuel for its Tehran research reactor.

The UN Secretary General has clarified that the relocation of some of the world body's staff from Afghanistan does not mean the UN is leaving the country.

"Let me be crystal clear: we are not evacuating," Ban Ki-moon said Friday. "We will not, cannot and must not be deterred. Our work will continue."

Iran's judiciary has freed three foreign nationals, who were arrested during Wednesday's rally commemorating the 30th anniversary of the US Embassy takeover in Tehran.

"Three foreign nationals, one Canadian and two Germans, who were arrested on Wednesday have been freed," the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted Tehran's prosecutor general Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi as saying late Friday.

US regulators shut 4 more banks (by PressTV, published Saturday, 07 November 2009 04:09)

Four more US banks have been closed by regulators, increasing the number of bank failures since January to 119.

The latest financial institutions to fall victim to the floundering economy are located in Georgia, Michigan, Missouri and Minnesota.

Individual bankruptcies in Britain have jumped to a 49-year record high in the three months prior to the end of September, a government agency says.

Fuelled by a rise in the number of debt relief orders, personal insolvencies increased 28 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
