ARMY MOTOR CYCLE CUM TREKKING EXPEDITION
Kolkata, April 5, 2010
The Motor Cycle Cum Trekking Expedition 'Sea to the Skies' by 1
Mechanised Infantry (1 Madras), one of the oldest Mechanized Units of
the Indian Army was flagged in by Maj Gen MS Sidhu at Trishakti Corps,
Nathu-la on 03 Apr 2010. It started from Diamond Harbour on 20
March,2010.
The expedition aimed at development of esprit-de-Corps, Spirit of
adventure, Camaraderie, enhancement of goodwill amongst the people and
motivating the youths to join the Army and serve the country.
Traversing through Kolkata, Santiniketan, Malda, Kishanganj,
Siliguri, Kalimpong and Gangtok the expedition team consisting of
14 members covered more than 1200 km over a period of 12 days.
