Dear Friends,
I am sorry for this belated welcome for the New year with our wishes for The Year 2010, because my mother (Smt. Narayani Devi Sharma, RIP) had massive cerebral hamorrhage on 29th Dec. and ultimately left us for abode on 10th Jan.2010 having been unconscious throughout and needing ventillator support now and then. She was 83. This is an inevitable Truth and nothing could be done to stop it. I am happy that she did not suffer much in her last days and I was by her side too. My mother was a primary school teacher and had a meagre income but contributed to help poor throughout. She was strict vegetarian, Hindu with high moral values and lived in spirituality all her life. I wish I had got some of her qualities too. My mother has been a Trustee for these Trusts in India and has contributed finances throughout helping us to provide for the children there. Coincidently she contributed a good sum on 27th Dec. towards building a RadhaKrishna temple in Snehalaya, just two days before she had the stroke, when I met her last in the conscious state. We have already started working to build the temple. The work is progressing satisfactorily including the new school building (though contractors continue to assure for its completion in time but I am very apprehensive and expecting delay). As you know in last four years, our focus is more for the children in snehalaya and those there from surrounding villages through our facilities including school, hospital, dental & eye centre, mobile rural health clinics, integrated rural development work etc. etc. rather than just childrens' hospital. Hence we have changed our name to "Gwalior Childrens Charity" in place of Gwalior Childrens Hospital. Our website also has been redesigned and updated, thanks to hard work and efforts of Robin all the way from Australia.
